MBA

Master of Business Administration is one of the most coveted qualifications in todays world. For some people, it is a dream come true. For some others, it is an unrealized dream.

Three primary reasons why someone would want to do a MBA are Career change, Functional change and Geographical change. Or a heady mix of any combination of those three. Put together, career advancement is the biggest motivator to pursue a MBA.

Just about anyone can get a MBA degree. But, some people don't want to do just a MBA. They want to do a MBA at a well reputed school. The reputation of the degree and the leverage it commands in the society are significant factors in MBA decision making. A School with the right infrastructure and influence can be a great career changer.

Business schools are aplenty. Even good business schools are many. Some good business schools might have local influence and some might have global influence. It all depends on what your future plans are. There is certainly no "one thing fits all" strategy here. You gota find out where you fit and how you fit.

But, one thing that is common to all Business schools is the cost. The cost can be enormous and generally includes huge tuition fee, opportunity cost of leaving your current job in addition to your living and traveling expenses. This might easily count up to many thousand EUR or Dollars.

So doing a MBA is obviously a big decision; You would better off by asking yourself the following questions before making a final decision.

1. Why do I want a MBA?
2. where do I want my MBA from? and
3. How will I finance my MBA?
