First time I sent the GMAT score to school-A and the second time I decided not to send the score to school-A. Now I am applying to school-A and should I resend the GMAT score to school-A if it has to have access to both the scores.

The Answer:

Yes, you need to resend the GMAT score the second time for the school-A to have access to both the scores.

The Source:

GMAT support line in both Asia and Europe

Some tips:

Some schools request to have online access to GMAT score from GMAC and some choose to have scores sent by post. You can either give a call to GMAC support to find out whether your preferred school likes to have online access or postal access. Good news is that online access might reach your school in 48 hours.

Disclaimer: This is completely my individual information and experience and I will not be liable or beneficiary of any usage of this information. The school was highly international, ranked in the top100 at FT rankings and most of all, the best deal for around 17500 EUR. The school claimed that it was able to keep its fee so low because of the financial support from Benelux governments. This time, Dec 2008, it does not seem to be the case. The school's website was revamped, together the fee was substantially increased to 24500 EUR, by at least 7000 EUR . Although the school sounds more confident and shouts aloud about its triple star accreditations, the school still has lot of room to work on.

It is a good move that the school is looking forward to establish loans with no co-signatory. It is also cool that the school is offering scholarships. I have not registered myself for the online application, but it was interesting to see the PDF document possibility to apply to the school. All in all, the school is good looking but to compete with the best and brightest, there is still a long way to go.

By the way, at the school website there was an interesting report about living and working in Belgium...check it out here

Understanding Financial Crisis

As I tried to understand the financial crisis, two articles stood out. For some people, it is a dream come true. For some others, it is an unrealized dream.

Three primary reasons why someone would want to do a MBA are Career change, Functional change and Geographical change. Or a heady mix of any combination of those three. Put together, career advancement is the biggest motivator to pursue a MBA.

Just about anyone can get a MBA degree. But, some people don't want to do just a MBA. They want to do a MBA at a well reputed school. The reputation of the degree and the leverage it commands in the society are significant factors in MBA decision making. A School with the right infrastructure and influence can be a great career changer.

Business schools are aplenty. Even good business schools are many. Some good business schools might have local influence and some might have global influence. It all depends on what your future plans are. There is certainly no "one thing fits all" strategy here. You gota find out where you fit and how you fit.

But, one thing that is common to all Business schools is the cost. The cost can be enormous and generally includes huge tuition fee, opportunity cost of leaving your current job in addition to your living and traveling expenses. This might easily count up to many thousand EUR or Dollars.

So doing a MBA is obviously a big decision; You would better off by asking yourself the following questions before making a final decision.

1. Why do I want a MBA?
2. where do I want my MBA from? and
3. How will I finance my MBA?
